Soccer Game Preview: Orange Park vs. Columbia

The Orange Park Raiders will square off against the Columbia Tigers at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Columbia will be up against a hot Orange Park team: the squad just extended their winning streak to six. Orange Park never let Yulee onto the board and left with an 8-0 victory last Thursday. It was an even better day for Ryanne Robinson as she scored five goals for her team.

Meanwhile, it can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Columbia had no problem doing just that on Thursday. They put the hurt on the Panthers with a sharp 5-0 win. Given the Tigers' advantage in MaxPreps' Florida soccer rankings (they are ranked 149th, while the Panthers are ranked 430th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Orange Park's victory was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 11-2-1. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 35 goals over those six matches. As for Columbia, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a nice bump to their 13-3-1 record this season.

Orange Park took their win against Columbia in their previous matchup two weeks ago by a conclusive 6-1. In that game, Orange Park amassed a halftime lead of 4-1, an impressive feat they'll look to repeat on Monday.
