Basketball Game Preview: Westbrook Wildcats vs. Hermleigh Cardinals

A feisty cat fight will be fought when the Wildcats challenge the Cardinals at 6:15 p.m. on Monday. Each of these teams will be battling to keep a three-game winning streak alive.

Westbrook is headed into the match after thoroughly thrashing Roby: they outscored them in every quarter. Everything went Westbrook's way against Roby on Tuesday as Westbrook made off with a 52-29 win. The Wildcats have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won nine games by 23 points or more this season.

Jaxson Browne was his usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 22 points and ten boards. The contest was his sixth in a row with at least 15 points. Cole Rich was another key player, putting up 14 points.

Westbrook smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 17 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 11 offensive rebounds in seven consecutive matchups.

Meanwhile, Hermleigh was able to grind out a solid victory over Roby on Friday, taking the game 58-45.

Westbrook pushed their record up to 16-11 with the win, which was their fifth straight at home. Those victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 23.0 points over those games. As for Hermleigh, their victory bumped their record up to 23-10.

Everything came up roses for Westbrook against Hermleigh when the teams last played back in January, as the team secured a 59-31 win. Will Westbrook repeat their success, or does Hermleigh have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
