Basketball Recap: Lookout Valley Yellowjackets vs. Copper Basin Cougars
The Lookout Valley Yellowjackets's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their 12th straight defeat. Their rough 66-41 loss to Copper Basin might stick with them for a while. Lookout Valley has not had much luck with the Cougars recently, as the team's come up short the last eight times they've met.
Justus Hamby continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Copper Basin, scoring 17 points along with six assists and six rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Avery Crowder, who scored nine points along with seven rebounds and three steals.
Lookout Valley dropped their record down to 1-18 with that defeat, which was their 22nd straight on the road dating back to last season. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 27.1 points per game. As for Copper Basin, their victory ended a eight-game drought at home and bumped them up to 4-17.
Coincidentally, Lookout Valley and the Cougars will both be playing the Sentinels the next time they take the court. Lookout Valley will host the Sentinels at 6:00 p.m. on Monday, while the Cougars will host them at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
