Basketball Recap: Pamlico Christian Academy Falls Despite Big Games from Lily Mathews and Allee Jones

Pamlico Christian Academy lost against Jacksonville Christian Academy back in December of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Pamlico Christian Academy Mariners fell to the Jacksonville Christian Academy Conquerors 63-57. The Mariners have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Pamlico Christian Academy's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Allee Jones, who posted 22 points and five rebounds, and Lily Mathews, who went 7 for 13 on her way to 18 points along with seven boards and four steals. Those 22 points gave Jones a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Dannielle Palagyi, who scored six points and 13 rebounds.

Even though they lost, Pamlico Christian Academy was working as a unit and finished the game with 11 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Jacksonville Christian Academy only racked up five assists.

Nylah Moore was her usual excellent self, going 9 of 21 en route to 40 points and five steals for Jacksonville Christian Academy. Moore's evening made it 28 games in a row in which she has scored at least 20 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Addison Sweet, who had ten points and six boards.

Pamlico Christian Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 15-10. As for Jacksonville Christian Academy, they are on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 13 matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 13-5 record this season.
