Coalfield had already proven themselves in the regular season and they didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. Everything went their way against the McKenzie Rebels on Thursday as they made off with a 10-0 win. The Yellow Jackets might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 24 contests by six runs or more this season.

Luke Treece was a standout: he got on base in all four of his plate appearances with three runs, three RBI, and one stolen base. Levi Heidel was another key player, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with three runs, one stolen base, and one double.

The victory was the eighth in a row for Coalfield, bringing their record up to 29-6. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.1 runs on average over those games. As for McKenzie, the loss snapped their winning streak at six games and leaves them with a 17-11 record.

McKenzie wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next game, an 8-5 victory against Bradford on the 22nd. Hopefully Coalfield paid attention to the Rebels' match: the next time they hit the field, they'll take on the Rebels on Friday.
