Volleyball Recap: Augusta Prep Comes Up Short

Augusta Prep was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They fell 2-0 to the Lakeside Panthers. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Panthers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 2-0 on Thursday.

The final score came out to 25-21, 25-14.

Brianna James paced Augusta Prep's offense, picking up four kills. James got some help from Priyanka Patel and her six assists. Patel was also solid from the service line: she led the team with three aces.

Among those leading the charge was Avery Miller, who had 20 assists.

Augusta Prep's loss dropped their record down to 13-13. As for Lakeside, they are on a roll lately: they've won 17 of their last 18 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 34-4 record this season.

Augusta Prep has already played their next contest, a 2-0 win against Johnson on the 27th. As for Lakeside, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 2-0 victory against Alleluia Community on the 27th.
