Soccer Game Preview: Sipsey Valley vs. Montevallo

The Sipsey Valley Bears will head out to challenge the Montevallo Bulldogs at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. Sipsey Valley has a tough task ahead: they'll enter the match with 12 straight losses, while Montevallo will come in with four straight wins.

Sipsey Valley fell victim to Demopolis and their airtight defense last Thursday. They lost 6-0 to the Tigers.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Montevallo). They blew past Shelby County 11-1 on Thursday. Considering Montevallo have won eight games by more than two goals this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Montevallo pushed their record up to 12-5 with the victory, which was their fifth straight on the road. Those road wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 33 goals over those five contests. As for Sipsey Valley, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-12.

Sipsey Valley suffered a grim 8-0 defeat to Montevallo in their previous matchup back in March. Can the Bears avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
