Basketball Recap: Kaleb Pone Key Part of a Team Effort in Panthers Win

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Southeast Raleigh, North Johnston was happy to have turned things around on Thursday. They ended the year with a bang, routing the Raleigh Charter Phoenix 60-40. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Panthers also won the last time the pair played back in December of 2021.

North Johnston's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Kaleb Pone, who posted 17 points. Another player making a difference was Charlie Barnes, who had 12 points and five rebounds.

North Johnston smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 13 offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive boards they've posted since back in February.

North Johnston's record is now 3-6. As for Raleigh Charter, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-6.

North Johnston won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Neuse Charter at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Neuse Charter is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 53.8 points per game this season. As for Raleigh Charter, they will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Wake Prep Academy at 7:30 p.m. on January 8, 2025.
