Volleyball Game Preview: Burlington Red Devils vs. Arlington Spy Ponders

Burlington hasn't had much luck against Arlington recently, but that could start to change on Monday. The Red Devils will square off against the Spy Ponders at 5:15 p.m. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.

Burlington took a loss when they played away from home on Tuesday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Thursday. They were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over Wakefield Memorial. The Red Devils haven't had any issues with the Warriors recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive victory against them.

While Burlington won a shutout, things came down to the wire in the second set they played. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-15, 25-23, 25-16.

Meanwhile, Arlington got the win against Essex North Shore Agric & Tech School on Saturday by a conclusive 3-0.

Arlington was especially dominant in the first set. The final score came out to 25-11, 25-19, 25-16.

Arlington's win bumped their record up to 10-5. As for Burlington, the victory got them back to even at 7-7.

Burlington suffered a grim 3-0 defeat to Arlington in their previous matchup back in April. Can the Red Devils avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
