Basketball Recap: Water Valley Takes a Loss

Water Valley lost against Blackwell back in December of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Water Valley Wildcats lost 56-34 to the Blackwell Hornets. While losing is never fun, the Wildcats can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 937th, while the Hornets are ranked 432nd).

Water Valley now has a losing record at 6-7. As for Blackwell, they are on a roll lately: they've won 13 of their last 15 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 19-8 record this season.

Coincidentally, both will both be playing Garden City the next time they take the court. Water Valley will host Garden City at 6:15 p.m. on Friday, while Blackwell will head out to face them at 6:30 p.m. on January 28th.
