Baseball Recap: Oak Hill Takes a Loss

Oak Hill was the 7-4 winner over Mountain Valley when they last played one another back in May of 2025, but their luck changed this time around. The Raiders fell 8-5 to the Falcons on Wednesday. The Raiders have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Braden Dubuc made the most of his time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 2-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. Oak Hill is 2-1 when Dubuc posts two or more runs, but 4-8 otherwise. Braden New also deserves some recognition as he hit his first triple of the season.

Oak Hill's loss dropped their record down to 6-9. As for Mountain Valley, the win got them back to even at 8-8-1.

Looking ahead, Oak Hill will square off against Spruce Mountain at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Phoenix have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 9.87 runs per game on average), something the Raiders will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Mountain Valley, they will face off against Dirigo at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Falcons' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Cougars have averaged an impressive 6.1 runs per game this season.
