Baseball Recap: Falls Lake Has No Trouble Against Crossroads Christian

Falls Lake's tournament run continued when they took on Crossroads Christian on Saturday. The Firebirds were the clear victors by a 14-1 margin over the Colts.

Jacob Watson made a big impact no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out six batters over three innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. He has been consistent: he hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in five consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with two RBI, one run, and one double.

In other batting news, Kace Obriant was a standout: he went 3-for-4 with three runs, three RBI, and one stolen base. That's the most hits he has posted since back in March. Dalton Parker also deserves some recognition as he hit his first triples of the season.

Falls Lake always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .552. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Crossroads Christian only posted an OBP of .381.

Falls Lake now has a winning record of 8-7. As for Crossroads Christian, the defeat snapped their winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 9-4 record.

Coming up, Falls Lake will head out to take on Wake Prep Academy at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Crossroads Christian, they will welcome North Hills Christian at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.
