Softball Game Preview: Live Oak Lions vs. Lindhurst Blazers

The Live Oak Lions will head out to face off against the Lindhurst Blazers at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this matchup.

On Monday, Live Oak didn't have quite enough to beat Marysville and fell 10-9. The Lions haven't had much luck with the Indians recently, as the team has come up short the last three times they've met.

Olivia Duran and Paige Medeiros stepped up to the plate in a big way. Duran scored three runs and stole a base while going 1-for-3, while Medeiros went 3-for-4 with four RBI. Those three hits gave Medeiros a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Alexa Medina, who went 1-for-4 with one triple and one run.

Meanwhile, Monday just wasn't the day for Lindhurst's offense. They came up short against Gridley on Monday, falling 13-0.

Live Oak's loss dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Lindhurst, their defeat dropped their record down to an identical 0-2.

Live Oak took their victory against Lindhurst in their previous matchup back in February of 2024 by a conclusive 8-2. The rematch might be a little tougher for Live Oak since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
