Football Recap: Apopka Comes Up Short

Friday just wasn't the day for Apopka's offense. They had to suffer through a 35-0 loss at the hands of the Edgewater Eagles. The loss continues a trend for the Blue Darters in their meetings with the Eagles: they've now lost five in a row.

Carter Emanuel was the offensive standout of the contest as he threw for 258 yards and two TDs. Those 258 passing yards gave him a new career-high. A healthy portion of Emanuel's aerial production (83 yards to be exact) went to Cole Emanuel, who also brought in a receiving touchdown.

Apopka's defeat dropped their record down to 1-4. As for Edgewater, the victory keeps them at an undefeated 5-0.

Apopka has already played their next game, a 51-0 loss against West Orange on the 26th. As for Edgewater, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, an 84-6 win against Lyman on the 26th.
