Baseball Recap: Centennial Apaches vs. Beverly Hills Normans
Centennial extended their losing streak to ten on Thursday, dropping their season record down to 3-18 in the process. They lost 24-2 to the Beverly Hills Normans. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Normans this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 13-1 on Tuesday.
As for Beverly Hills, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 9-11-1. Their hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.
For Beverly Hills' part, Cameron Park made a big impact no matter where he played. On the mound, he pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Park was also stellar in the batter's box, getting on base in all five of his plate appearances with three runs and two RBI. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in hits (three).
In other batting news, Jayden Ibarra was incredible, going 3-for-5 with three runs, four RBI, and two doubles. That's the most runs he has posted since back in April of 2024. Emet Polack also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.
We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Centennial will square off against rival Morningside at 3:15 p.m. on Monday. Meanwhile, Beverly Hills is set to challenge their familiar foe Inglewood at 3:15 p.m. on Friday.
