Volleyball Recap: Dynamic Duo of Kael Valdois and Taylor Rattay Lead Stillwater to Victory

There's no place like home for Stillwater, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Saturday. They narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past the Westmoore Jaguars 3-2. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last four times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

Stillwater had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first two sets, they turned around to win the next three. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 23-25, 22-25, 25-23, 25-21, 16-14.

Stillwater was led to victory by Taylor Rattay and Kael Valdois. Rattay had 19 digs and four assists, while Valdois had nine digs and three aces. Those nine digs gave Valdois a new career-high.

They weren't the only good server: Stillwater was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 12 aces. That's the most aces they've managed all season.

Stillwater's victory ended a three-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 3-5. As for Westmoore, with the defeat, they broke their four-game winning streak and moved their record to 5-2.

Coming up, Stillwater will venture away from home to take on Bixby at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Westmoore, they will host Norman North at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
