Basketball Recap: Caldwell County Takes a Loss

It was a proper cat-fight when Caldwell County took on Dawson Springs on Monday. The Caldwell County Tigers fell 85-75 to the Dawson Springs Panthers. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game last Monday (61), the Tigers still had to take the loss.

It was another big night for Montgomery Johnston, who shot 4-for-5 from downtown and almost dropped a double-double with 43 points and nine rebounds for Dawson Springs. Johnston's big performance that evening made it five games in a row in which he has scored at least 23 points. Another player making a difference was Rex Blue, who almost dropped a double-double with nine points and 14 boards.

This is the second loss in a row for Caldwell County and nudges their season record down to 15-11. As for Dawson Springs, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 17-14.

Caldwell County does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Dawson Springs, they will face off against Madisonville-North Hopkins at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
