Baseball Game Preview: Crystal Lake South Gators vs. Lakes Eagles

The Crystal Lake South Gators will square off against the Lakes Eagles at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday. Lakes took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Crystal Lake South, who comes in off a win.

Crystal Lake South barely beat Cary-Grove the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Gators blew past the Trojans 11-1 on Friday. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Gators.

Meanwhile, Lakes didn't have quite enough to beat Antioch on Friday and fell 4-3.

Crystal Lake South's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 16-10. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.7 runs on average over those games. As for Lakes, their defeat dropped their record down to 17-7.

Crystal Lake South was able to grind out a solid win over Lakes in their previous matchup back in May of 2024, winning 7-2. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Gators since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
