Basketball Recap: Langtree Charter Academy Comes Up Short

Langtree Charter Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their eighth straight loss. They were beaten by the Community School of Davidson Spartans 79-39. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Spartans this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 70-56 back in January.

Langtree Charter Academy lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Anthony Nesbit, who posted seven points. Another player making a difference was Jerel Brawley, who had five points and five boards.

Dermot Lowry was his usual excellent self, going 13-for-21 on his way to 32 points and eight rebounds for Community School of Davidson. Community School of Davidson is 6-1 when Lowry posts 20 or more points, but 7-9 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Austin Moran, who went 7-for-15 to rack up 16 points.

Langtree Charter Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 6-16. As for Community School of Davidson, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 13-10.

Langtree Charter Academy has already played their next match, a 65-55 victory against Sugar Creek Charter on the 12th. As for Community School of Davidson, they will head out to challenge Pine Lake Prep at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Pine Lake Prep's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last six contests.
