Baseball Recap: Myrtle Comes Up Short

Myrtle and Baldwyn squared off in some playoff action on Friday, but Myrtle had to settle for second. They took a 4-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Bearcats. Having soared to a lofty 11 runs in the game before, the Hawks couldn't push the score so high this time.

Myrtle's defeat dropped their record down to 21-8. As for Baldwyn, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six games. That's provided a nice bump to their 20-9-1 record this season.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Myrtle beat Baldwyn by a score of 12-2 on Saturday.
