Baseball Recap: Borden Gets the Win

Borden's game last Wednesday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Wednesday. They skirted past the Corydon Central Panthers 11-9. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Braves have posted since May 22, 2024.

The team relied heavily on Jayden Gardner, who went 2-for-4 with one home run and three RBI. He has become a key player for Borden: the team is undefeated when he posts at least three RBI, but 3-5 otherwise. Another player making a difference was K.J. Simmons, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI and one run.

They weren't the only ones working in the home run department: Borden lost a few balls and finished the game with two home runs. That's the most home runs they've posted since back in May of 2024.

Borden now has a winning record of 6-5. As for Corydon Central, this is the second loss in a row for them and also nudges their season record down to 6-5.

Borden has already played their next contest, a 12-0 victory against Henryville on the 8th. As for Corydon Central, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, an 11-6 defeat against Brownstown Central on the 8th.
