Basketball Game Preview: S & S Consolidated Rams vs. Gunter Tigers

The S & S Consolidated Rams will square off against the Gunter Tigers at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. S & S Consolidated has a tough task ahead: they'll enter the match with 12 straight losses, while Gunter will come in with nine straight wins.

On Tuesday, S & S Consolidated was beaten by Pottsboro 60-22. While losing is never fun, the Rams can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 1218th, while the Cardinals are ranked 179th).

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Gunter). They breezed by Howe to the tune of 86-21 on Tuesday. The Tigers have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 13 contests by 21 points or more this season.

Gunter pushed their record up to 21-3 with the victory, which was their 15th straight at home dating back to last season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 58.0 points per game. As for S & S Consolidated, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-13.
