Baseball Recap: Vel Phillips Memorial Takes a Loss

Vel Phillips Memorial lost against Verona back in May of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Spartans fell 5-1 to the Wildcats.

Vel Phillips Memorial got a good showing from Myles Hosking, who didn't allow a single earned run over four innings pitched. Hosking has been consistent: he hasn't given up a single earned run in five consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Oliver Soldat made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-3 with one home run.

Vel Phillips Memorial's defeat dropped their record down to 13-3. As for Verona, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 10-4.
