Volleyball Game Preview: Rocky River Pirates vs. Berea-Midpark Titans

Rocky River has gone a perfect 3-0 against Berea-Midpark recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Monday. The Pirates will be playing at home against the Titans at 6:30 p.m. Rocky River will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak.

Normandy came into Thursday's contest looking for another win against Rocky River, but Kylie Spies wouldn't allow it. The Pirates came out on top against the Invaders by a score of 3-1 on Thursday thanks in part to Spies, who had six digs and five aces. She has been hot recently, having posted two or more aces the last four times she's played.

Rocky River had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next three. The match finished with set scores of 22-25, 25-17, 25-13, 25-22.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Berea-Midpark, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Tuesday. Everything went their way against North Ridgeville on Thursday as they made off with a 3-0 victory.

While Berea-Midpark might've won, it sure wasn't easy: North Ridgeville scored at least 18 points in every set they played. The final score came out to 27-25, 25-18, 25-22.

Rocky River's win bumped their record up to 9-5. As for Berea-Midpark, their victory bumped their record up to 7-9.

Rocky River was able to grind out a solid win over Berea-Midpark in their previous matchup back in October of 2022, winning 2-0. Will the Pirates repeat their success, or do the Titans have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
