Volleyball Game Preview: Taylor Yellowjackets vs. Mercy McAuley Wolves

The Taylor Yellowjackets will take on the Mercy McAuley Wolves in a tournament on Wednesday. The timing is sure in Taylor's favor as the team sits on 11 straight wins at home while Mercy McAuley has been banged up by three consecutive losses on the road.

Taylor will bounce into Wednesday's matchup after beating Roger Bacon, who they had gone 0-4 against in their four prior meetings. The Yellowjackets had just enough and edged out the Spartans 3-2 on Saturday.

Taylor wouldn't go down easily and took Roger Bacon into a fifth set where they got it done with a five-point win. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-12, 27-25, 24-26, 21-25, 15-10.

Taylor can attribute much of their success to Madalyn Trimpe, who had nine digs and four assists, and Kylie Stutzman, who had 29 digs and 27 kills. Stutzman is crushing it when it comes to kills: she's had at least seven every time she's taken the court this season.

Meanwhile, Mercy McAuley made easy work of Taft on Saturday and carried off a 3-0 win.

The 3-0 score doesn't show just how dominant Mercy McAuley was: they took every set by at least 14 points. The final score came out to 25-0, 25-11, 25-5.

Taylor's victory bumped their record up to 21-2. As for Mercy McAuley, their win bumped their record up to 8-15.
