Baseball Game Preview: Northwest Wolves vs. Waukee Warriors

The Northwest Wolves will square off against the Waukee Warriors at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Northwest 3.4, Waukee 2.2) so any runs scored will be well earned.

Northwest is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to 12 runs on Friday, they were much more limited against Valley on Monday. They lost 10-2 to the Tigers. The game marked the Wolves' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Meanwhile, Waukee won against Fort Dodge on Friday with ten runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Monday. The Warriors were the clear victors by a 10-1 margin over Johnston. The result was nothing new for the Warriors, who have now won five matchups by six runs or more so far this season.

Waukee's win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 10-2. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.3 runs on average over those games. As for Northwest, their loss was their first of the season and makes their record 7-1.
