After having lost a blowout in their previous game against DuPont Manual, Portland Christian was happy to have turned things around on Thursday. They were the clear victors by a 12-1 margin over the Christian Academy-Louisville Centurions. The Eagles might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won eight contests by 11 runs or more this season.
Eva Hidrogo was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run while striking out six over five innings pitched. Hidrogo was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with two RBI.
In other batting news, Piper Scott was a standout: she went 3-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI. Those three hits gave her a new career-high. Ava Gish was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two RBI and one double.
Portland Christian always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .586. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Christian Academy-Louisville only posted an OBP of .211.
