Volleyball Recap: Clovis Beats Clovis West for Their Sixth Straight Win

Clovis had already won five in a row and they went ahead and made it six on Wednesday. They came within a single set of losing the streak, but they secured a 3-2 W against the Clovis West Golden Eagles. Surprisingly, this marked the Cougars' fifth straight game in which the away team has come away the victor.

Clovis wouldn't go down easily and took Clovis West into a fifth set where they got it done with a eight-point win. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 28-26, 25-18, 23-25, 15-25, 15-7.

Leading Clovis to victory were Jocelyn Yang and Lyla Rose. Yang had 23 digs and three assists, while Rose had 18 digs, 14 kills, and one block. Rose has been hot for a while, having posted six or more kills the last nine times she's played. Emily Pruett also deserves some recognition as she served her first aces of the season.

Clovis' win bumped their record up to 26-4. As for Clovis West, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 20-7.

Coming up, Clovis will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Central East at 6:00 p.m. As for Clovis West, they will be taking part in a tournament against Redondo Union at 2:00 p.m. on Friday.
