            Basketball Preview: Springstead Eagles vs. Central Bears        
        
		
        
        
            Springstead and Central are an even 5-5 against one another  since January of 2020, but  not for long. The Springstead Eagles will square off against the Central Bears at 7:30  p.m.  on Friday. Given that  the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this  matchup.
On Wednesday, Springstead ended up a good deal behind Clearwater and lost  49-34. The Eagles haven't had much luck with the Tornadoes recently, as the team's come up short the last two times they've met.

 Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the best came from  Ryan Sayre, who  posted 11  points. He is also on a roll when it comes to  steals, as he's  now  grabbed two or more in the last four games he's  played. Another player making a difference was  Zion McKenzie, who  earned eight points and five  rebounds.
 Meanwhile, Central fought the good fight in their overtime  contest against Hernando  on Tuesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell to the Leopards  53-49. While the Bears didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Leopards  16-6 in the first  quarter.
 Central has  been struggling recently as they've  lost three of their last four games,  which put a noticeable dent in their 3-4 record  this season. As for Springstead, their defeat  ended  an  eight-game streak of wins at home  dating back to last season and  dropped them to 3-5.
 Springstead came up short against Central in their previous meeting  back in January, falling  68-64. Can Springstead avenge their  loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
