Basketball Recap: Dynamic Duo of Katie Grimm and Riley Stover Lead Tyler to Victory

There's no place like home for Tyler, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Wednesday. They blew past the Calhoun Red Devils 69-44 on Thursday. The Knights have beaten the Red Devils the last four times they've met, but they better watch out: this was the closest the Red Devils has come to flipping the script.

Tyler was led to victory by Riley Stover and Katie Grimm. Stover went 6-for-11 on her way to 19 points and five steals, while Grimm posted 19 points in addition to seven rebounds and six assists. Stover has become a key player for Tyler: the team is 4-1 when she posts at least five steals, but 5-11 otherwise. Jules Lattea was another key player, putting up six points along with 11 boards and three blocks.

Tyler smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 15 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 11 offensive boards in six consecutive contests.

Tyler's record now sits at 9-12. As for Calhoun, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 8-11.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Tyler will challenge South Harrison at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Calhoun, they and Wahama will face off at 7:00 p.m. on Friday without much rest, having both just played.
