Softball Recap: Lake City Comes Up Short

Lake City and Barnwell squared off in some playoff action on Tuesday, but Lake City had to settle for second. They fell just short of the Warhorses by a score of 2-0. Considering the last time the Panthers couldn't score was back in April, the team can't take the result too hard.

Lake City dropped their record down to 2-8 with the loss, which was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Barnwell, they have been performing well recently as they've won 16 of their last 19 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 21-6 record this season.

Lake City does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Barnwell, they will challenge Woodland at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The Warhorses' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Wolverines have averaged an impressive 7 runs per game this season.
