Baseball Recap: Mountain Grove Wins Going Away Against Greenwood

While Mountain Grove put up plenty of runs on Thursday, the same can't be said for Greenwood. Mountain Grove was the clear victor by an 11-0 margin over Greenwood. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Panthers.

The team relied heavily on Sam Peterson, who scored two runs while going 2-for-3. Those hits marked the first that he got this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Brayden Haughey, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-3.

Mountain Grove was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .385. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their batting average total in three consecutive matches.

The win got Mountain Grove back to even at 2-2. As for Greenwood, their loss dropped their record down to 0-2.

Coming up, Mountain Grove will take on New Covenant Academy at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Greenwood, they will face off against Early at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. The contest will give Greenwood their first taste of in-conference action this season.
