Baseball Recap: Arnold Takes a Loss

Arnold and St. Augustine squared off in some playoff action on Friday, but Arnold had to settle for second. They took a 10-6 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Yellow Jackets. The Marlins have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Beau Williams got Arnold off to a strong start despite the final result, pitching four innings while giving up just two earned runs off four hits. Williams has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Anthony Achon was cooking despite his team's loss, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with two RBI and one double. The team also got some help courtesy of Conor McCann, who went 2-for-4 with two runs and one RBI.

Arnold's defeat dropped their record down to 15-13. As for St. Augustine, their victory bumped their record up to an identical 15-13.

Arnold does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for St. Augustine, they will take on Choctawhatchee at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. The Indians will roll in looking for their seventh straight win, something the Yellow Jackets surely won't give up without a fight.
