Softball Recap: Briarwood Christian Takes a Loss

Briarwood Christian was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They lost 10-1 to the Homewood Patriots. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Lions of the 7-3 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2024.

Briarwood Christian saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Taylor Forrester, who scored a run while going 1-for-3. Ashley Heinemann also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.

Briarwood Christian's loss dropped their record down to 3-8-1. As for Homewood, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 13-9-1.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Briarwood Christian will square off against Central of Clay County at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Homewood, they will challenge West Blocton at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.
