Softball Recap: Springfield Comes Up Short

After flying high against Green Mountain Union on Saturday, Springfield came back down to earth. The Cosmos took an 8-5 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Hartford Hurricanes on Tuesday. The defeat continues a trend for the Cosmos in their meetings with the Hurricanes: they've now lost seven in a row.

Springfield's loss dropped their record down to 5-9. As for Hartford, their victory bumped their record up to 9-2.

Springfield does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Hartford, they will face off against Rutland at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Rutland has struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 18.58 runs per game on average), something Hartford will no doubt try to take advantage of.
