Preview: Kearney Catholic Stars vs. Holdrege Dusters

Kearney Catholic is 7-0 against Holdrege since December of 2016, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Tuesday. The Kearney Catholic Stars will head out on the road to face off against the Holdrege Dusters at 6:00 p.m. Hopefully Kearney Catholic focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 12 on Thursday.

In what's become a running theme this season, Kearney Catholic gave their fans yet another huge victory on Thursday. They really took it to Lexington for the full four quarters, racking up a 46-14 victory on the road. That looming 46-14 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for Kearney Catholic yet this season.

Callie Squiers continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 14 points along with seven rebounds and four steals. She continues to roll, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played. Another player making a difference was Londyn Carnes, who scored seven points along with four steals.

Holdrege suffered their biggest defeat yet this season on Friday. Their tough 46-21 defeat to Southern Valley might stick with them for a while. While losing is never fun, Holdrege can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Nebraska basketball rankings (they are ranked 85th, while Southern Valley is ranked 14th).

Kearney Catholic's win bumped their record up to 7-4. As for Holdrege, their loss ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 7-6.

Kearney Catholic beat Holdrege 35-22 in their previous meeting back in December of 2022. The rematch might be a little tougher for Kearney Catholic since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
