Recap: McCallum Knights vs. Rouse Raiders
Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but unfortunately for the McCallum Knights, they weren't the ones who walked away with it. They had to suffer through a rough 55-27 loss at the hands of Rouse. McCallum's loss signaled the end of their five-game winning streak.
Rouse's win on Friday was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Justin Cannon, who rushed for 145 yards and three touchdowns on only ten carries. Cannon was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 67 yards. London Morgan was another key contributor, throwing for 265 yards and four touchdowns on only 17 passes.
McCallum's loss dropped their record down to 7-4. As for Rouse, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 8-3.
McCallum does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Rouse will head out on the road to face off against Port Neches-Groves at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Port Neches-Groves knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past seven contests -- so hopefully Rouse likes a good challenge.
