Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Muhlenberg County). They blew past the Ohio County Eagles, posting a 91-54 victory. Given the Mustangs' advantage in MaxPreps' Kentucky basketball rankings (they are ranked 78th, while the Eagles are ranked 211th), the result on Friday wasn't entirely unexpected.

Despite the loss, Ohio County still got an impressive performance from Tate Abney, who went 10 for 15 on his way to 23 points and seven rebounds. Those 23 points gave Abney a new career-high. Braydon Woods also deserves some recognition as he scored his first points of the season.

With the win, Muhlenberg County broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 13-6. As for Ohio County, their loss was their fifth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 5-14.

Muhlenberg County will host Breckinridge County at 7:30 p.m. on February 7th. As for Ohio County, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 63-54 defeat against Apollo on the 1st.
