Baseball Recap: Edgewood Academy Has No Trouble Against Bessemer Academy

Edgewood Academy never let their opponents score on Tuesday. Everything went their way against the Bessemer Academy Rebels as they made off with a 10-0 win. Considering the Wildcats have won seven contests by more than five runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Garrett Myers tossed a big game, keeping things locked down with no earned runs or hits over five innings pitched. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one walk in four consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Edgewood Academy got a massive performance out of Grayson Jones, who scored two runs while going 3-for-3. The dominant performance also gave Jones a new career-high in doubles (two). Ethan Evans was another key player, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-3.

Edgewood Academy was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .444. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.

Edgewood Academy's victory bumped their record up to 11-4. As for Bessemer Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 4-4.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Edgewood Academy will welcome Lowndes Academy at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Bessemer Academy, they will look to defend their home field on Thursday against Coosa Valley Academy at 4:00 p.m. Coosa Valley Academy will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something Bessemer Academy surely won't give up without a fight.
