Baseball Recap: Waterville-Elysian-Morristown Takes a Loss

Waterville-Elysian-Morristown was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their tenth straight loss dating back to last season. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 12-11 heartbreaker at the hands of the Janesville-Waldorf-Pemberton Bulldogs. Even if the Buccaneers couldn't come away with the win, the high-scoring effort was a great turnaround for their hitters, which had struggled int the games prior.

Ivan Pratt and Brenden Snesrud did some serious damage despite the final result: Pratt scored two runs while going 1-for-4, while Snesrud scored a run while going 3-for-3. Jackson Dahl was another key player, scoring a run while getting on base in three of his five plate appearances.

Waterville-Elysian-Morristown's defeat dropped their record down to 0-4. As for Janesville-Waldorf-Pemberton, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-3.

Looking ahead, Waterville-Elysian-Morristown will be playing in front of their home fans against Blue Earth at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Janesville-Waldorf-Pemberton, they are taking a road trip to take on Alden-Conger at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday.
