Volleyball Recap: Dynamic Duo of Ashley Peterson and Quinn Cassidy Lead Florence to Victory

Florence had already proven themselves in the regular season and they didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. Everything went their way against the Phelps Knights on Thursday as they made off with a 3-0 victory. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last five times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

Not only was the match a shutout, it was a big one: Florence took every set by at least 14 points. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-9, 25-11, 25-7.

Florence was led to victory by Quinn Cassidy and Ashley Peterson. Cassidy had four digs and four aces, while Peterson had six digs. That's the most digs Peterson has posted over her last six contests.

Florence has been performing well recently as they've won seven of their last nine matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 28-14 record this season. As for Phelps, their loss dropped their record down to 15-23.

Florence wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 3-0 win against Niagara on the 25th. Phelps does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
