Softball Recap: Harlan Takes a Loss

Harlan suffered their biggest defeat since April 2nd on Friday. They came up short against the Letcher County Central Cougars, falling 11-4. The Green Dragons haven't had much luck with the Cougars recently, as the team has come up short the last seven times they've met.

Abby Fields was cooking despite her team's loss, going 1-for-3 with one home run and two RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Ella Lisenbee, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base and two RBI.

Harlan's loss dropped their record down to 16-7. As for Letcher County Central, they are on a roll lately: they've won 11 of their last 13 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 17-10 record this season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Harlan will host Barbourville at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Letcher County Central, they will welcome Lawrence County at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
