Softball Game Preview: Gallatin County Hawks vs. Pope County Pirates

For the first time this season, Gallatin County will have a chance to prove themselves in a conference matchup. They will head out to face off against the Pope County Pirates at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Gallatin County will be strutting in after a victory while Pope County will be coming in after a loss.

Gallatin County lost a heartbreaker the last time they played Meridian, but it's fair to say they got their revenge given the result of Thursday's contest. The Hawks blew past the Bobcats 22-8 two weeks ago.

Meanwhile, Pope County came up short against Benton on Tuesday, falling 16-6.

Pope County's defeat dropped their record down to 3-6. As for Gallatin County, the win got them back to even at 1-1.

Gallatin County might still be hurting after the 16-3 loss they got from Pope County in their previous meeting back in April of 2024. Can the Hawks avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
