Softball Recap: Cayuga Wildcats vs. LaPoynor Flyers
Cayuga won against LaPoynor last Friday with eight runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Saturday. The Cayuga Wildcats skirted past the LaPoynor Flyers 8-7. That's two games straight that Cayuga has won by just one run.
For LaPoynor's part, Bre Howard made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and scored three runs and stole three bases while going 4-for-5.
Cayuga's win ended a five-game drought at home and bumped them up to 5-19-1. As for LaPoynor, they dropped their record down to 3-13 with that loss, which was their 12th straight on the road dating back to last season.
Cayuga will look to defend their home field in Tuesday's first game against Martins Mill. Cayuga and Martins Mill are at an even 3-3 over their past six head-to-heads. LaPoynor does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
