Basketball Recap: Sonoma Valley Skates Past Kennedy with Ease

Sonoma Valley's game last Saturday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Saturday. They claimed a resounding 69-15 win over the Kennedy Eagles. The Dragons have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won three matchups by 25 points or more this season.

Luke Costanzo was nothing short of spectacular: he shot 41% from the field en route to 17 points along with eight boards and three steals. Sonoma Valley is undefeated when Costanzo posts eight or more rebounds, but 1-3 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Alexander Pureco, who posted seven points in addition to 12 boards and five steals.

Sonoma Valley was working as a unit and finished the game with 11 assists. They are 3-1 when they've passed the ball that well.

Sonoma Valley now has a winning record of 4-3. As for Kennedy, they dropped their record down to 0-5 with the defeat, which was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season.

Looking ahead, Sonoma Valley will venture away from home to square off against Elsie Allen at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Dragons will be up against the Lobos' rather soft defense (which has allowed 61.91 points per game), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Kennedy, they will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Petaluma at 7:00 p.m. on the 30th.
