Basketball Recap: Tarpon Springs Takes a Loss

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Tarpon Springs can now relate to. They were outmatched by the Cardinal Mooney Cougars and fell 100-5. The contest marked the Spongers' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Cardinal Mooney can attribute much of their success to Talia Busser, who posted 21 points. That's the most points Busser has posted since back in December of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Emily Wilson, who earned 15 points.

Tarpon Springs is on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-14. As for Cardinal Mooney, the win was the tenth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 17-9.

Tarpon Springs does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Cardinal Mooney, a feisty cat fight is on tap when the Cardinal Mooney Cougars face off against the Academy of the Holy Names Jaguars on Thursday. Cardinal Mooney knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past ten matchups -- so hopefully Academy of the Holy Names likes a good challenge.
