Recap: Pebble Hills Spartans vs. Eastlake Falcons
The Pebble Hills Spartans had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 26.3 points), and they went ahead and made it four on Thursday. They walked away with a 31-21 victory over Eastlake. Given Pebble Hills' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas football rankings (they are ranked 205th, while Eastlake is ranked 461st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
It was another big night for Gael Ochoa, who threw for 338 yards and two touchdowns while completing 73.1% of his passes, and also rushed for 80 yards and a touchdown. Another player making a difference was Zereian Quarles, who gained 134 total yards and two touchdowns.
Pebble Hills' defense stepped up as well, laying out the QB five times. Eastlake's QB won't forget Rafael Jaquez anytime soon given Jaquez sacked him five times.
Despite the loss, Eastlake still got an impressive performance from Steven Galindo, who rushed for 80 yards and a touchdown on only seven carries.
Pebble Hills has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 8-2 record this season. As for Eastlake, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-4.
Pebble Hills does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Eastlake will be playing at home against Eastwood at 4:00 p.m. on November 3rd. Eastwood is coming into the match hot, having won their last seven games.
