Baseball Recap: Liberty's Luck Takes a Turn for the Worse on Tuesday

It was a good run, but Liberty unfortunately witnessed the end of their six-game winning streak on Tuesday. They lost 17-3 to the Arlington Lions. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Bison have suffered since March 10th.

Alexander Arteaga was cooking despite his team's loss, going 1-for-3 with one home run. That home run was his first of the season. The team also got some help courtesy of Ian Slater, who went 1-for-4 with one home run.

Liberty's loss dropped their record down to 9-8. As for Arlington, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won nine of their last ten contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 18-5 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Liberty will venture away from home to face off against Poly at 3:15 p.m. on Thursday. As for Arlington, they will head out to challenge Paloma Valley at 3:15 p.m. on Thursday. The last three games the Wildcats have played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.
