Football Recap: Nicolle Mcnally's Menacing Defense Leads San Gorgonio over Poly

San Gorgonio won the last time they faced Poly and things went their way on Saturday too. The Spartans walked away with a 14-6 win over the Bears. The victory was a breath of fresh air for the Spartans as it put an end to their three-game losing streak.

San Gorgonio didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off five passes before the game was over. McNally and Ava Bogarin were the leaders of the group effort as each produced two apiece. Daisy Serrano has become a key player for San Gorgonio: the team is 2-1 when she posts at least one interception, but 2-5 otherwise. McNally got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.

San Gorgonio's win bumped their record up to 4-6. As for Poly, with the loss, they broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 4-2.

Coincidentally, San Gorgonio and Poly will both be playing Shadow Hills the next time they take the field. The Spartans will head out to face the Knights at 9:30 a.m. on Saturday, while the Bears will play them later in the day, at 11:00 a.m.
