Football Recap: Thomasville Comes Up Short

Thomasville played a tough contest on Friday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They came up short against the Providence Grove Patriots, falling 31-9.

Nick Straughn went supernova For Providence Grove., rushing for 196 yards and two TDs while picking up 7.8 yards per carry. Those 196 rushing yards gave Straughn a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Jackson Lawver, who threw for 100 yards and one touchdown while completing 75% of his passes.

Thomasville's defeat dropped their record down to 5-5. As for Providence Grove, they pushed their record up to 8-2 with the win, which was their third straight at home.

Coming up, Thomasville will face off against Chase at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Providence Grove does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
